Six more persons were arrested in what seemed as an endless fight against shabu in Zamboanga City.

Arrested in fresh buy-bust operations were Miko Sayon y Abulario, 26, of Zone 4, Tulungatung, Elmer Lano y Carpio, 36, married and Leodigario Sacristan y Diaz, 36, both of Urban Poor, Tulungatung.

They were arrested by men of the Police Station 9 based in Ayala led by Sr. Insp. Karib Abud Muharram yesterday morning.

Confiscated from the suspects’ possession were eight sachets of suspected shabu, drug paraphernalia, a .45 caliber pistol, two 40mm grenade launchers (M203), P400 marked money and P1,010 in cash.

Joemarie Giami y Polca, 21, single, a resident of Bungalao Sibuco, Zamboanga Del Norte was arrested by men of the Labuan Police Station the other day.

Police said that around 6p.m.,  intelligence operatives received a text message informing them that three persons were sighted engaging  in illegal drug activity.at Sitio Pula Bato , Limpapa, Zamboanga City,

Immediately, policemen proceeded to the place and while approaching the area, they spotted two persons, one standing along the highway and the other riding on a motorcycle. However the two men scampered in different directions upon sensing the arrival of the police.

One of the two men who was later identified as Giami accidentally fell on a drainage canal and was approached by the team if he suffered injuries. But policemen recovered a sachet of suspected shabu and two folded aluminum foil strips inside an empty Vicks container in his possession.

Around 8 p.m., Wednesday,  men of the Sta. Maria Police Station conducted an anti-illegal drug operation at Talungon, Barangay San Roque, Zamboanga City that resulted in the arrest of Arnold Miguel y Tiga, 44, single and Jesus Pollisco y Dezena, 37 years old, married and both residents of the said place. Confiscated from their possession were four sachets of suspected shabu, drug paraphernalia and P 300 marked money.

Around 3 p.m. of the same day, men of the City Police Office conducted a buy-bust operation at Madraso Drive, Brgy Tetuan resulting in the arrest of Danilo G. Cabasag, alias “Tatay”, 54, and Fernando B Bucoy, 48, of Estrada St., Tetuan.

Recovered from their possession were 10 sachets of suspected shabu, P300 marked money and drug paraphernalia. – Dan Toribio Jr.
