The Zamboanga City Water District (ZCWD), in line with its activities under its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) Program, continues with the series of orientation on Water Sanitation and Hygiene (WASH) and water conservation at Barangay Hall of Boalan.

The orientation on October 22, 2014 carries the objective of disseminating information about health and good nutrition, clean environment, water sanitation and responsible hygiene practices, among others, with the end view of enabling community awareness that a healthy environment contributes to overall progress and development.

The activity was well-attended by the barangay kagawads, community health workers, active community leaders with the residents of Barangay Boalan as well as some nursing students of ADZU. Punong Barangay Angelina Inot was on a special consultation meeting. On top of the foregoing topics, participants were likewise briefed by ZCWD personnel on the agency’s water sources and its treatment and also shared some water conservation tips. The residents were optimistic to be ambassadors of proper sanitation and hygiene within the community.

During the open forum, the residents presented issues concerning low water pressure, additional water connection and its requirements, leaking water meter connection as well as complaints on high consumption on water bill.  — Montee E. Domingo-ZCWD, OIC-CREAS
