A vendor was killed in another gun violence in Recodo yesterday morning.

Shot dead was Al-Nhidzfar Asakil y Jomari, 29, of Recodo. He sustained bullet wounds in the body and was taken to the Ayala Lying-in Hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.

Police said Azakil was shot by Aldrin “Buds” Lao of Recodo.

Recovered at the crime scene were two spent shells and one slug of .45 caliber pistol and a Suzuki Raider 150 CC motorcycle.

Police suspect the motorcycle belongs to Lao who hastily left the place after shooting Azakil.

Witnesses told the police that Lao and Asakil had engaged in a heated argument during which the former pulled out a .45 caliber pistol and shot the latter twice.

Police were looking into drugs as a possible motive behind the killing.

A hot pursuit operation against Lao was still ongoing as of press time.

Several other fatal shooting incidents have taken place this year in Recodo where the shabu trade is rampant.

Two years ago, lawmen busted a notorious drug ring led by a man known as Bin :Laden in Recodo. It came with the dismantle of a “shabu tiangge” and the arrest of several suspects. But early this year, the illegal drug activities resurfaced in that barangay. – Dan Toribio Jr.
