A 17-year-old boy was killed Monday afternoon in another gun violence in drug-infested Barangay Recodo, eight hours  after a vendor was shot dead in the same place.

Slain was Idjam Usama, a deportee from Sabah, Malaysia and a resident of Purok 7, Recodo.

Initial investigation discloed that Usama was at Purok 7 where some residents heard several gunshots around 5:30 p.m. Moments later, residents found Usama slumped on the ground with bullet wounds in the body.

Recovered at the scene were one spent shell, two live ammunition and one deformed slug of .45 caliber pistol.

Investigators  were looking on drugs as the most probable motive behind the boy’s killing.

Police gathered that Usama was staying at the house of his aunt Mrs. Dayang Nursada Radjael y Usama, 41.

Meanwhile, policemen have arrested Aldrin Lao who was tagged as the gunman who shot and killed Al-Nhidzfar Asakil, vendor last Monday.

Lao was nabbed at their house at Purok 5B, Recodo during a hot pursuit operation. He was taken to the Ayala Police Station where he denied that police statement that the vendor’s killing was drug related.

He said that he and his wife had bought lanzones from Asakil.

Lao said a heated argument ensued between him and Asakil after the latter told his wife,“bonita tu, sigi ya lang tu conmigo bolbe na casa”. Amid their argument, Lao drew a handgun and shot Asakil in the body. – Dan Toribio Jr.
