Cops recover stolen water meters from local junkshop PDF Print E-mail

Policemen led by Chief Insp. Felix Martinez together with Atty. Mark Paredes of the Zamboanga City Water District conducted a search yesterday on a junk shopwhere thieves sell stolen water meters.

The search covered by a warrant issued by Judge Gregorio Dela Pena of the Regional Trial Court Branch 12 for violation of the anti-fencing law was carried out at Evergreen Merchandising owned by a certain Ramon and Tony, Chinese and Korean nationals respectively along Tumaga and Putik road yesterday morning.

Policemen recovered 13 damaged water meters and assorted plumbing materials.

All the recovered items were believed to be stolen.

ZCWD and the police applied for a search warrant after several water meters were reportedly being stolen in the different places in the city.

A case will be filed against the management of Evergreen for violation of the anti-fencing law  — Dan Toribio
