The Office of the Presidential Adviser on the Peace Process (OPAPP) has scheduled a media forum for the members of the local media to provide context and understanding on the proposed Bangsamoro Basic Law (BBL).

The OPAPP, in an emailed statement to the Zamboanga Press Club, Inc., said the media forum on the proposed BBL is set to be held from 9-12 noon Saturday, November 8, in one of the local hotels.

“It is our desire to partner with media organizations such as the Zamboanga Press Club, Inc. to help in the information and dissemination on the details of the Comprehensive Agreement on the Bangsamoro and its basic law. The forum will serve as a venue where journalists can be clarified on the details of the bill,” the OPAPP statement said.

“OPAPP sees the need to engage with the fourth estate to assist the office in reaching out to the public by providing accurate information on the Bangsamoro Basic Law and the southern peace process as a whole,” it added.

The resource person of the forum will be Atty. Mohammad Al-amin Julkipli, a member of the government’s peace panel legal team.

The BBL bill is currently undergoing legislative processes both from the Senate and House of the Representatives.
