Gasoline vendor shot to death, gunman nabbed PDF Print E-mail

A gasoline vendor was shot to death by a former gasoline station worker in Talon-Talon last Sunday afternoon.

Police identified the fatality as Zaldimar Ismula y Ibing, 20, married. He sustained a gunshot wound in the head and was taken to the Zamboanga City Medical Center where he was declared dead on arrival.

A police report disclosed that Ismula was tending his illegal gasoline stand and was about to sell a bottle of gasoline to a customer around 1 p.m. when two men riding tandem on a motorcycle appeared and the backrider shot him in the head.

The gunmen sped away after the incident while the victim was taken to the hospital where he was declared dead on arrival.

The Tetuan police conducted a follow-up operation that resulted in the arrest of Reynante Gutierez y Reyes, married, a pump technician for petroleum products and former employee of Caltex Gasoline Station in Veterans Avenue and a resident of Gutierez Compound, Tumaga Porcentro.
Gutierez was detained at the Tetuan Police Station pending the filing of charges against in court. — Dan Toribio Jr.
