Tabak chief inducts MSGC members PDF Print E-mail

Brig. Gen. Gerando F. Barrientos Jr. commander ofthe Army’s 1st Tabak Division, inducted the newly constituted members of the Multi-Sector Governance Council (formerly multi-sector advisory board) on Friday  at the Marcian Garden Hotel, this city.

The members of the multi-sector governance council (MSGC) who elected their set of officers last October 2, 2014 at the Marcian Business Hotel are: Chairperson — Prof. Ali T. Yacub, Al-Hj (GCCPBA); Vice-Chair — Engr. Ali S. Urao (MSA Council of Elders) Secretariat — Mr. Joshin Ray T. Pescadera (FMSA); Prof. Cecile Bernal (Silsilah); Mr. Albert F. Arcilla (PAZ); Committees —  (Peace Process) Chairperson — Dir. Macderul Sangkula (NCMF); Members — Dr. Grace J. Rebollos  Ed.D. (ZABIDA/PAZ),  Ustz. Ibno Omar (Sabilah Mo’htaden),  Fr. Angel C. Calvo, CMF, (ZABIDA/PAZ); (Conflict Resolution: Chairperson — Dr. Milavel D. Nazario Ed.D. (ZSCMST); Members — Ustz. Ibno Omar (Sabilal Mo’tahden), Mr. Bhong Simbajon (RMN); (Governance) Chairperson — Dr. Pendatun I. Talib, Al-hj (ZCIPCL), Members — Prof. Al-Rashid T. Jama(GCCPBA),  Councilor Roel Natividad ; (Public Information) Chairperson — Mr. Bhong Simbajon (RMN), Member — Mr. Eddie Chua (ZFCCCI)

Prof. Yacub, Al-Hj, president of the Golden Crescent Consortium of Peace Builders and Affiliates and chair of MSGC, told GCCPBA- Media, the Multi-sector Governance Council has the following roles and responsibilities of the MSGC as prepared by the Office of the Commander, Task Force Zamboanga:

-Enhance partnership of Joint task group (JTGZ) with stakeholders

- Evaluate and assess the performance of Task Force Zamboanga

- Monitor the adherence of security forces to human rights, international human rights and the rule of law.

- Supports and guise the JTCZ’s information campaign through the use of quad-media

The MSGC has also the following committees to handle such issues and concerns:

- Peace Process

- Conflict Resolution

- Governance and

- Public information

The Multi-Sector Governance Council is mandated to meet on the schedules as indicated in the Protocol issued by the Office of the Task Force Commander at least once per quarter, special meetings maybe called by the chairperson or majority of the members and committee meetings- scheduled as determined by the Head or majority of the members or as directed by the Board Council, Yacub, said. — GCCPBA-Media Group
