Tabak chief inducts MSGC-TFZ PDF Print E-mail

The commander of the 1st Infantry (Tabak) Division (1ID,PA)  Brig. Gen. Gerardo Barrientos inducted the newly created Multi-Sector Governance Council of the Task Force Zamboanga (MSGC-TFZ) at a local hotel the other day.

The MSGC was organized to demonstrate the Army’s earnest commitment to pursue genuine reforms founded on good governance through accountability and transparency; and to encourage stronger private-public partnership.

Barrientos said the creation of the Multi-sectoral council is timely as the Armed Forces of the Philippines (AFP) continously challenged by varius threats and problems even smuggling activities in the region.

“The organizaton of this council is to seek guidance and coperation in a common and united way, so that, we can optimize our effort as partner in nation building,”Barrientor said.

The MSGC are composed of members representing various sectors of society including youth, academe, media, church, business, government, non-governmental organizations (NGO’s) and People’s organizations (Pos).

The newly-inducted officers of MSGC are Prof. Ali Yacub, chairman; Engr. Mohammad Ali Urao, vice-chairman with Joshin Rey pescadera, Cecile Bernal and Albert Arcilla as members of the secretariat.

The Committee on the Peace process is being headed by NCMF Regional Director Macderul Sangkula and the members are Ustadz Omar Ibno, Grace rebollos, Fr. Angel Calvo and Fr. Sebastiano D’Ambra.

Th chairman of the Committee on Conflict Resolution is headed by Dra. Milavel Nazario with Ustadz Omar Ibno, Bong Simbajon, and Dr. Elmeir Apolinario.

The chairman  in the Committee on Good Governance is being led by Dr. Pendatun Talib, Al-Hadj, with Prof. Al-Rashid Jama and councilor Elong Natividad and Eddie Chua while the chairman on Public Information is being headed by Bong Simbajon and Eduardo Cheong as member. — Monch L. Follosco
