Two teenagers were wounded while the chairman of Barangay Buenavista escaped unhurt in a grenade attack Saturday night.

The victims were identified as Quennie Jumawan Levita, 19 and Addim Alaja Attain, 16. Both sustained shrapnel injuries in their body and rushed to the hospital for treatment.

The grenade attack took place outside the house of Buenavista Barangay Chairman Chairman Eugene Jumawan around 8:40 p.m.

Initial investigation disclosed that Jumawan together and some kagawads and neighbors were sitting and chatting at a waiting shed just outside the former’s residence when a red motorcycle with two unidentified men aboard sailed in and the backrider lobbed a grenade which exploded near them.

Luckily, Jumawan and other residents escaped unhurt but the two teenagers who were also near the waiting shed were hit by shrapnels.

The grenade throwers sped away after throwinf the grenade.

The two teenagers were declared out of danger by phsycians.

Police suspect the grenade was intended for Jumawan and some kagawads. — Dan Toribio Jr.
