A bandit was killed in a gunfight with government forces while his three cohorts were arrested in Tungawan, Zamboanga Sibugay Monday morning.

A report gathered by DZT disclosed that police and military troopers went to Sto. Nino, Tungawan to serve a warrant of arrest on Danny Mohammad and Jamhal Tarawi who have pending cases for frustrated homicide and robbery. The warrant was issued by Judge Anthony Isaw of the Regional Trial Court Branch 24 based in Ipil.

However the suspects along with their cohorts resisted and engaged the lawmen in a gunfight during which Abdul Basis Alhabshi was killed.

Tarawi, Bernie Sahak of Naga and Alcif Tanjilu, of Lubigan, Zamboanga City were arrested.

Police and military troopers recovered from the suspects’ possession a.45 caliber pistol, M14 rifle, carbine rifle, a speedboat and a Honda XRM motorcycle.

The suspects were placed under police custody pending the filing of charges in court. — Dan Toribio
