LTO-9 set to implement ‘Pantawid Pasada’ PDF Print E-mail

The Land Transportation Office-9 together with the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory  Board-9 will call a meeting with the different transport associations in the region sometime this month to discuss the implementation of the “Pantawid Pasada Card” as provided for under Executive Order No. 32 issued and signed by PresidentAquino on April 1,2011.

The purpose of the  executive order is to give fuel subsidy to public transport  vehicle owners and operators.

LTO-9 Director Aminola P. Abaton said the leading agency to implement EO 32 is the Department of Energy. It will be supported by the Department of Transportation, Department of Budget and Management, Department of Finance and Department of  Interior and Local Government.

Abaton explained that each member of the public transport with accreditation card will be given the Pantawid Pasada Card to avail of fuel assistance amounting to P1,050. It can be used little by little or consume totally. The initial funding requirement of the program is amounted P450 million.
