The shabu menace appears to have spread from the tip of the west coast in Limpapa up to the end of the city’s east coast.

This, after men of the Labuan Police Station led by Sr. Insp. Chester Natividad arrested three persons for possession of shabu in Barangay Patalon Wednesday afternoon.

Arrested were Benjie Capangpangan y Villanueva, 33, Ibrahim Asula y Jamasali, 59 and Jerry Samson y Salvador, 27, all residents of Labuan.

A police report disclosed that Natividad and his men were manning a checkpoint at Sitio Miluao, in Patalon around 1 p.m. when the three aboard a tricycle passed by.

During inspection, policemen recovered from the possession of their three a match box containing two medium size sachets and a small sachet containing suspected shabu, 10 rolled aluminum foil strips, a lighter and two empty plastic sachets.

Police said that the three came from Recodo where they bought shabu. They were detained at the Labuan police station while the seized items were turned over to the 9th PNP Crime Laboratory for examination.

Based on police buy-bust operations, persons have been arrested for shabu in almost all barangays of Zamboanga City from the east coast to the west coast. — Dan Toribio
