Three Peace Weaver awardees for 2014, one is a posthumous awardee and 10 institutions, will receive special citations for peace and solidarity on November 30, according to Fr. Angel C. Calvo, CMF, president, Peace Advocates Zamboanga and lead convener, Interreligious Solidarity for Peace (ISP).

The late DILG Secretary Jesse M. Robredo will be awarded as Peace Weaver 2014 (posthumous). His award will be received by his widow, Rep. Leni Robredo, Congresswoman, 3rd District of Camarines Sur. The other Peace Weaver awardees are Supt. Pedro Melchor M. Natividad, Division of City Schools and Ustz. Abdulquddos Jamad, official interpreter, National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF),  Zamboanga Peninsula Regional Office N-A.

Special Citations for Peace and Solidarity will be bestowed to 10 national offices and international humanitarian institutions and organizations for extending humanitarian assistance during the Zamboanga Crisis September 9, 2013. They are International Labor Organization (ILO), International Committee of the Red cross (ICRC), International Organization for Migration (IOM), United Nations Children’s Fund (UNICEF), United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR), United nations Office for the Coordination of Humanitarian Affairs (UNOCHA), Social Welfare and Development Office (CSWDO), Department of Social Welfare and Development Field Office (DSWDO), National Commission on Muslim Filipinos (NCMF) and the World Health Organization (WHO).

The Executive Committee of the Interreligious Solidarity for Peace which voted unanimously for the above-mentioned awardees is composed of Prof. Ali T. Yacub, Al-Hj, Muslim Convener, Atty. Paulino Ersando, Evangelical Convener, Dr. Pendatun Talib, Al-Hj, Indigenous Peoples Convener and Mr. Nurhamdo Cegales, IP-Lumad Convener.

The awarding ceremonies will be held at the Claret High School Gymnasium in Barangay Baliwasan Moret, this city on November 30.
