“Drug pushers, your days are numbered.”

Thus warned Councilor Jerry “Totong” Perez in an interview with this reporter.

Perez, who chairs the city’s Anti- Drug Task Force, said they are closely monitoring eight barangays in the city where selling of shabu is rampant.

He said they are working closely with the Zamboanga City Police Office under City Police Director Sr. Supt. Angelito Casimiro.

”The city police and my committee are working hard to combat illegal drugs because it is a threat to our youth. It is destroying their future,” Perez said.

The councilor from Putik  appealed to the people to help the police and the Anti- Drug Task Force to combat  drug addiction and drug peddling so that pushers can be arrested and be brought to the  bar of  justice and the city would become a drug-free.

Shabu is rampant in almost all barangays in the city, but most serious of all are barangays Recodo, Baliwasan, San Roque and Tumaga. — Allen Abastillas
