A former policeman and a companion who introduced themselves as school consultants were arrested at a police checkpoint in Caragasan, Maasin for possession of gun and shabu Sunday night.

Nabbed were Amil Adjulani y Abdulmuin, 46, a former policeman and a resident of Flamingo, Malagutay, and Leo Rosales y Palangca, 42, of Guiwan. They were arrested by men of the Sinunuc Police Station led by Sr. Insp. Hingming Ladjaali.

Rosales claimed he is a school consultant of a private school but the management denied it.

A police report disclosed that Adjulani and Rosales were riding tandem on a Honda  XRM motorcycle that slowed down and stopped at a police checkpoint.

Upon inspection, policemen recovered a .45 caliber pistol from the possession of Adjulani while a sachet of shabu was found sealed inside the slacks of Rosales.

The two were detained at the police station while the gun as well the suspected shabu were forwarded to the 9th PNP Crime Laboratory for examination. – Dan Toribio Jr.
