Land Transportation Office-9 Director Aminola P. Abaton has been appointed by the LTO  central office as National  Vice Chairman of the Committee on Law Enforcement and Traffic Adjudication Service (LETAS).

Abaton’s appointment was signed by LTO Assistant Secretary  Alfonso Tan.

According to Abaton  the committee is  tasked is to review, revise  and draft the guidelines and regulations on the  implementation of the provisions on law enforcement in all LTO regional offices nationwide. It is also included on the processing of application of licenses and the conduct of examination of  license applicants.

The committee is also empowered to aggressively impose the provisions against violators of Republic Act 10586 otherwise known as the Anti- Drunk Law.

On the other hand, Abaton disclosed that the inauguration and blessing of the new building of LTO-9 which is now undergoing rehabilitation is tentatively scheduled next year.

Abaton said the rehabilitation will not be finished this year because of the year end report and workload of its personnel on  the processing licenses and application/ renewal of motorvehicle registrations.

“Supposedly the inauguration will be held this month of December but there is lack of time,” Abaton explained. —  Allen Abastillas
