ZCWD seeks to complete more water infra projects in 2015 PDF Print E-mail

The Zamboanga City Water District (ZCWD) continues to construct more water infrastructure projects aimed to be completed in 2015.

In the service of providing sustainable water supply to nearby barangays, the agency continues its project expansion and rehabilitation of dilapidated pipelines, the development of new water sources as well as the laying of additional pipes as part of ZCWD’s continuing program to improve its services to the water consuming public.

As of Novemer 16, 2014, the construction/rehabilitation/improvement of the Sinubong-Pamucutan Water System which is from boundary of Patalon-Sinubong to Pamucutan  is 98.42% accomplished. The remaining activities of which are the painting of air release valves and its concrete barricades as well as the installation of 5-unit blow off assembly. The cost for both ZCWD and the LGU is at PhP6 million and PhP2.45 million, respectively.

Another project due for completion is the construction/ rehabilitation/ improvement of Lanzones-Buenakapok-Salaan Water System with its concrete encasement as the only remaining activity per latest variation order.

The construction/improvement/rehabilitation of Vitali-Licomo-Tictapul Water System Project (Phase 1 & Phase 2)is making significant headway.  Phase 1 of the said project is still under finishing point, whilePhase 2 has some remaining activities, as follows:  1) bridgecrossingconstruction, 2) construction of concrete collector chamber withencasement,3) construction of catenary bridge, and 4)pipelayingof 1,854ln.m. 75mmdiameter GI pipeline which is worth PhP14.1 million and PhP5.43million for ZCWD and the Local Government, respectively.

Though not fully commissioned yet, the construction/rehabilitation/improvement of Dulian-Busay-Upper Pasonanca Water System Project is already serving safe potable water to these areas.

Per report update for the last quarter of this year, the project on the construction/rehabilitation/improvement of Water System at Guisao Interior is still on-going.

The Biodiversity Project at Brea, Upper Lumayangand the Installation of One (1) unit -75mmØ Fire Hydrant with Concrete Barricade at Canelar are still ongoing.
