A 66-year-old laundry woman was wounded after she saved her son from getting shot during a gun attack in their residence in Sitio Cambodia, Tetuan last Wednesday afternoon.

Police identified the victim as Nida Subing-Subing y Kim, widow. She sustained a bullet wound in the body and was taken to the hospital.
Nida was shot by Sagil Bairula y Alvarez, a former security guard and a resident of Talabaan.
A police report disclosed that Nida was at their residence around 4 p.m. when she saw Bairula armed with a handgun ready to shoot her son Victor Neri.

Quickly, Nida shielded her son as Bairula squeezed the gun’s trigger.
Police said that out of the three gunshots, one of the bullets hit Nida in the body.
Bairula escaped after the incident while Nida was rushed to the Zamboanga City Medical Center for treatment.

Initial investigation disclosed that several days ago, Bairula caught Victor Neri having sexual intercourse with his wife in their rented house in Tetuan.
However, Bairula did not file charges against Victor Neri and his wife. — Dan Toribio Jr.
