Man shot, wounded by cops in Recodo PDF Print E-mail

A 31-year-old man was shot and wounded after he tried to shoot policemen pursuing a wanted person in Recodo last Sunday morning.

Wounded was Benhar Sappayani y Asnawi, 31, married, of Almubarak Drive, Suterville.  He was taken to the Zamboanga City Medical Center for medical attention.

Recovered at the area were a .38 caliber revolver without serial number and loaded with six rounds of ammunition. a fragmentation grenade, two magazines of M16, two magazines of .45 caliber pistol, nine  rounds ofammunition of .38 caliber revolver, 11 rounds of ammunition of .45 caliber pistol, 31 rounds of ammunition of 5.56mm, magazine pouch of.45 caliber pistol, a holster, two empty shells of cal.45, a lower camouflage uniform of Philippine Marines, one lower shorts  camougreen of PNP, six small sachets of  suspected shabu, one digital weighing scale, two surgical scissors, 2 disposable lighters, one plastic container containing several small folded tissues, one plastic container containing several small rolled strips of aluminum foil, one rolled tissue, three big rolled strips of aluminum foil, a Nokia cell phone. white/gray, assorted empty transparent plastic sachets, a samurai sword,an improvised tooter, a notebook containing  different names inside, a slot machine (Bar-Bar) and assorted used drug paraphernalia.

A police report disclosed operatives of the Ayala Police station 9 led by Sr. Insp.  Karib Muharram were conducting an operation around 7:45 a.m. against Alih Majid who has a pending warrant of arrest for murder, at Purok 6, Recodo.

However when the lawmen arrived in the area, Majid and his companion identified as  Alkhaber Susada alias Bong immediately run toward their hideout at the same Purok that prompted the operatives to chase them.

Upon reaching the said hideout, two unidentified persons locked the door and opened fire on the policemen. Luckily their guns malfunctioned.

Policemen returned fire hitting Sappayani on the right leg.
