The Hechos de Zamboanga, an exhibit of Zamboangueño products, made its second pit stop at Jardin Maria Clara Monday, December 15, wherein a showcase of locally produced products for sale will be made available for the next seven days.

To run from December 15 to 21, the second leg of the Hechos will host the awarding of the Lantern and Canciones de Pascua competitions, and will also feature a car show and a night market which will be opened from 3 pm to 11 pm.

According to City Investment Officer Apple Go, the activity is not only intended to bring additional holiday cheer to consumers this yuletide season, but is also a way of helping producers market their products under the One Barangay, One Product (OBOP) initiative.

“Aside from adding cheer to the holiday season from the east to west coast, the Hechos is designed to tap the products of the OBOP as well as the Go-Negosyo Act,” she said, as she enjoined residents to join and visit the Hechos exhibits in Jardin and in Mercedes Church.

She further added that proceeds from the first night of the Hechos at the Jardin Maria Clara will be donated to the victims of Typhoon Ruby.

As with the Ecozone Leg of the Hechos, free rides will be given to residents who wish to visit the Hechos exhibit at Jardin. Rides will depart from City Hall at 4 PM, 6 PM and 8 PM.

Dubbed as the “12 Dias de Hechos”, the exhibit cum trade fair is one of the activities for the 2014 Pascua na Zamboanga celebrations whose overarching theme reflects on the desire for Paz.

The Hechos officially kicked off December 12 for a two-day stay at the Zamboanga Ecozone in San Ramon. After its stop in Jardin Maria Clara, the Hechos will be making its way to the Mercedes Church for its final week. — Jasmine Mohammadsali
