Diebetic screening program for WM cops set January PDF Print E-mail

The PNP’s 9th Regional Health Service is scheduled to conduct in January a diabetic screening program for the personnel of Police Regional Office 9.

The medical activity is dubbed as “Wellness Program on Diabetes, Hypertension and other Lifestyle Related Diseases”.

Chief Inspector Modesto Mecaydor disclosed that the program is aimed to find out who among the PRO-9 policemen  have diabetes.

During the conduct of the screening , there will be an intervention for health education and instruction and procedure  on treatment for the identified personnel.

Mecaydor said that after the screening and instruction and procedure on health education, the patients will be evaluated with free health clinic and will be given free anti-diabetes medication.

The partners of the 9th Regional Health Service are Dr. Troy Abdurahman, diabetes specialist and the Zamboanga City Medcial Center’sDepartment of Internal Medicines.

This pilot program will be held at PRO-9 headquarters in  Camp Abendan, Barangay Mercedes and at the Zamboanga City Police Office

Mecaydor also said that the same program It will follow at the Zamboanga del Norte Police Provincial Office, Zamboanga del Sur PPO and Zamboanga Sibugay PPO. — Allen Abastillas
