As part of her thrust to ensure participatory governance, Mayor Beng Climaco on Thursday (Dec. 18) motored to the island barangays of Tumalutab, Manalipa and Pangapuyan to consult the residents concerning her priority programs and other issues and concerns.

In the islands, the mayor spearheaded community dialogues, consultations with barangay officials focusing discussions on her Security Health and Education (SHE) program and infrastructure projects for implementation in the said villages.

Accompanying the mayor during her island visits were Col. Arthur Biyo of the Philippine Marines and Col. Jovy Bacordo of the Philippine Navy.

The mayor regularly makes the rounds of the different barangays through the Dia del Alcalde program where she holds community dialogues and barangay consultations to discuss about issues and concerns affecting the barangays.

Meanwhile, on Wednesday (Dec. 17) and Friday (Dec. 19) the mayor visited CAFGU detachments in District I and II, respectively, to dialogue with them and provide basic goods as they continue to safeguard the city during the yuletide season.

Among the District 1 detachments visited on Wednesday were those located in Labuan, San Ramon, Talisayan, Ayala, Tulungatung, Cawit, Upper Calarian and  San Jose Gusu and those visited in District II on Friday were those located in Mangusu, Tigbalabag, Curuan, Tuktukalaw, Mala and Bungiao among others.

“This is our way of showing our appreciation and support to the CAFGU personnel who keep guard of our city,” the mayor said.  — Sheila Covarrubias
