Sr. Supt. Severino B. Agusin,  Highway Patrol Group 9 chief, has directed all HPG provincial units to assist in local traffic management in their area of jurisdiction for the yuletide season and intensify anti-carnapping operations.

Agustin said many people from the different provinces, particularly from the rural municipalities, would go shopping in the city to  buy gifts and foodstuff and other things for the celebration of the New Years Eve. It is also  already expected that many places in the region will be full of guests, visitors and vacationers enjoying the New Year vacation.

According to Agustin, HPG provincial teams will help assist traffic in seaports. bus terminals,  airports and other public places where there is heavy influx of people.

Agustin’s directive was issued during a yuletide gathering and unit conference held on Saturday.

Agustin explained that all provincial teams should intensify their anti -carnapping operations as car thieves will take advantage of the celebration of the yuletide season. — Allen Abastillas
