Hi-Ace seized in police raid in Recodo ‘hot car’ PDF Print E-mail

Supt. Ariel Huesca, commander of the PNP’s Zamboanga City Public Safety Company, said on Friday that one of the vehicles they impounded during an internal security operation in Recodo on December 26, was found to be stolen.

Huesca  said the Toyota Hi-Ace van with plate number TIO 993 was reportedly stolen at gunpoint in Bacoor, Cavite last January 11, 2013.

It was learned after the vehicle was discovered as “hot car”  after it was checked with the HPU Vehicle Information Management System of the Highway Patrol Group.

Huesca it appeared that a certain Rogelio Flores of Barangay Quenn’s Row East, Bacoor, Cavite personally reported the hijacking incident in which in the canappers took the vehicle from the driver at gunpoint.

To recall, around 2 p.m. Huesca and some 70 policemen conducted an internal security operation in Recodo that resulted in the arrest of four persons, recovery of the said vehicle and Nissan Navara, a hand grenade, drug paraphernalia, sachets of shabu, gambling machines, ammunition and money amounting to P1, 702, 000. — Dan Toribio
