Men of the City Police Office’s Special Investigation section led by Supt. Felix Martinez rescued four women believed to victims of human trafficking at Solis Drive, Saavedra Street, Sta. Maria Monday afternoon.

Martinez said that four suspected traffickers — two women, a man and a gay were also arrested.

Police said that the rescued persons were natives of Bukidnon and Cagayan due Oro City. They were recruited to work as bar girls here.

The suspects were detained pending the filing of charges in court while the rescued victims were turned over to the Department of Social Welfare and Development for proper disposition. — Dan Toribio
