Men of the Central Police Station’s Investigation Section led by Sr. Insp. Arlan Delumpines yesterday arrested a 17-year-old gay who clubbed to death his 73-year-old aunt last January 4.

Nabbed was Ryan Bucoy, a resident of San Jose, Cawa-Cawa. He was arrested during a followup operation at the city proper.

Bucoy was positively identified by his friend Imee Carvahal as having participated in the killing of Lourdes Engrano around 9 p.m. on January 4.

Carvahal told the police that she and Bucoy had planned to rob Engrano’s money, but she was surprised after Bucoy clubbed his aunt with an iron pipe before taking some P7,000 in cash.

Engrano was taken to the hospital where she expired.

Bucoy had been stealing money from the victim several times in the past, other relatives told the police. — Dan Toribio
