Seven more persons were arrested as police intensify the campaign against illegal drugs, particularly shabu.

Terence Julkanain y Ho, 18, DenDen Ambutong y Abdurasid, 25, Rheinasier Barry y Ismael, 22, Mohammad Abdul Jukupan y Abdulla, 21 and Lolong Tinabsar y Host-an, 34, were arrested by men of the Central Police Station led by Chief Insp. Edilberto Alvarez during a buy bust operation at Nazareth Drive, San Jose around 6 p.m. Wednesday. Confiscated from his possession were four sachets of shabu and P200 marked money.

Salam Namla Dumarapat, 38, of Sabana, Dita was nabbed by policemen of the Curuan Police Station in Ontog, Quiniput around 10:a.m. also Wednesday. Confiscated from his possession were four sachets of shabu.

Kalim Sahibul y Jamlaiya, 77, married, of Labuan, was arrested at a police checkpoint at Sitio Miluao, Patalon for possession of shabu Tuesday afternoon.

Sahibul  was arrested by men of the Labuan Police Station led by Sr. Insp. Chester Natividad who were manning a checkpoint around 4:30 p.m. Tuesday. He was aboard a ‘D Biel Transit bus that was stopped at the checkpoint for inspection.

Natividad said his men noticed that one of the passengers who was later identified as Sahibul was edgy and acting suspiciously. He was trying to hide something into his socks. Policemen asked him to step down from the bus.

In the presence of barangay officials, police seardhed and recovered from Sahibul’s possession particularly from the sock on the right foot, eight jumbo size sachets containing suspected shabu.

The suspect was taken to the police station while the seized items were forwarded to the 9th PNP Crime Laboratory for examination.— Dan Toribio
