Ø From Jan. 5- 14, a total of 858 business permits have been issued through the City Government’s Business One Stop Shop (BOSS) concept. Last year, 335 permits were issued from Jan. 2-14.

Ø “BIG BANG RUN Year 2”- a 1km and 5km fun run to promote fitness and wellness in the community will kick off Sunday, January 18 at 5am at Paseo del Mar. Organized by the City Mayor’s Office through the Investment Promotions Division with FIT Zamboaga, the activity is to raise funds for livelihood projects of IDPs at the grandstand.

Ø The Dia del Alcalde outreach mission at the Masepla,Mampang  transitory site served almost 600 people  in terms of medical and dental services. The CSWDO provided pails, mats and basins to each of the 891 IDP families housed in Masepla. The activity kicked off with a clean-up drive led by the CHO and also included information campaign on livelihood opportunities.

Ø IDPs who wish to apply for job positions in canning factories starting February may coordinate with camp managers in transitory sites or the Public Employment Service Office under the CSWDO in Pettit Barracks for registration for orientation.

Ø The PESO office is facilitating the hiring of workers for Ace Hardware that will operate in the soon to open City Mall. It is also facilitating the hiring of Muslim nurses for overseas placement; interview will be on Jan. 26-27.

Ø The police have been on Full Alert status since Dec. 15 up to present and are implementing Plan No. 02-15 in relation to the Pope’s visit in Manila and Tacloban Jan. 15-19.
