Two businesswomen engaged in the selling of used clothes (ukay-ukay) were shot and wounded in Kasanyangan last Sunday night.
A police report identified the victims as Shirley Gaganacruz y Barrera, 34, married of Kilometer 7, Mampang and Fatma Panta y Hanain, 34, single, of Logoy Diutay, Talon-Talon.

Initial investigation disclosed that the two were aboard a Yamaha Mio scooter with plate number 9613 JJ driven by Gaganacruz and were on their way home coming from the city proper around 7 p.m., when two men aboard another motorcycle chased them and the backrider opened fire on them fronting the Rojo Compound,
Gaganacruz sustained a bullet wound on the right shoulder and while Panta was shot in the face.

The gunmen sped away after the incident while the victims were taken to the Zamboanga City Medical Center for treatment.
Investigators recovered one spent shell of .45 caliber pistol at the crime scene.

Daily Zamboanga Times gathered that few days ago, the victims dismissed their employees. However investigators were looking at several angles as investigation was still on going. — Dan Toribio Jr.
