City Hall reminds businessmen of the January 20 deadline for the permits renewal process and the payment of business taxes.

The business one stop shop (BOSS) concept that the city government launched this year has yielded positive outcomes since it started January 5. It will be in effect until the end of the month.

From January 5 to Jan. 18, the Business Licensing and Permits Office (BPLO) under the Office of the City Mayor has processed a total of 2,699 permits applications- both renewal and new.  A total of 1,242 permits have been issued during the first 13 days of the BOSS implementation as compared to the 609 permits issued during the same period in 2014.

BPLO Chief Benjie Barredo said renewals and payment made after the January 20 deadline will be meted with a 25% surcharge per quarter and 2% additional surcharge per month.

Offices involved in the BOSS concept are open from 8am to 8pm Mondays through Fridays and 8am to 5pm on Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. — Sheila Covarrubias
