The city government through the City Human Resource Management Office yesterday tendered a simple yet fitting program in honor of the 21 employees who have just retired from service.

Mayor Beng Climaco and CHRMO department head Dr. Jane Bascar led the program, during which they handed tokens over to the retirees in appreciation of their outstanding public service.

The program culminated with a breakfast among the city officials, the retirees and other employees at the Conference Room of City Hall. Played to everybody’s delight was a video of old photographs that captured the retirees’ memorable moments in government service.

In her message, Mayor Climaco thanked the retirees for having exemplified the values of honesty, integrity and dedication to their respective jobs in the service of the local government and the people of Zamboanga for 25 years and more.

Aside from honoring the retirees, the city government also pays tribute to its employees who would be able to render at least 25 years of uninterrupted service to the local government.

Dubbed as loyalty award, the employees falling under such category will receive a gold ring and a tribute book. It is also pursuant to the city government’s Program on Awards and Incentives for Service Excellence (PRAISE

The last to receive such honor were 69 employees, among them were Engr. Rene dela Cruz, department head of the City General Services Office, and Assistant City Treasurer Romelita Candido, during a program last November 2014. — Vic Larato
