Health ordinances up for review PDF Print E-mail

City Health Officer Dr. Rodelin Agbulos disclosed during the presscon held at city hall on Monday, that the office will pay close attention to health-related ordinances in the city following the maiden meeting of the Local Health Board.

The meeting was held at the conference room, City Hall, last January 16 and was spearheaded by Mayor Ma. Isabelle Climaco-Salazar.

Dr. Agbulos said that they were able to pass several resolutions during the said meeting. “Two of which is to resolve to have a regular fitness program for Local Government Unit (LGU) employees in coordination with the Sports Division of the City Mayor’s Office (CMO) and we are going to review all health ordinance for possible amendments.”

In lieu with this, Agbulos said that CHO will pay close attention to City Ordinance 500, one that caters for the city’s problems with sanitation and City Ordinance 413 which is about the smoking ordinance.

Recall that Ordinance 413 was fully implemented last April 7, 2014 which was mainly sponsored by Mayor Beng and Councilor Myra Paz Abubakar. — Juseph Elas, WMSU-OJT
