City Police Director Sr. Supt. Angelito Casimiro disclosed yesterday that they will impose a Comelec gun ban under the poll body’s Resolution No. 992 from February 6 to March 2, 2015  in connection with the forthcoming Sangguniang Kabataan Election.

Casimiro said supposedly the gun ban will be implemented on February 21, 2015 but Comelec moved it earlier to February 6, 2015.

Casimiro hosted a conference yesterday morning  together with Comelec officials Atty.  Joseph Roy M. Cañete of District I and Atty. Lerdo I. Matildo of District II,  police station chiefs,  Task Force Zamboanga Chief Col. Jose Colina and First Marine Battalion Landing Team commander Lt. Col. Juan.

The police chief said they will hold another coordinating conference on February 5, 2015.

Casimiro is optimistic that the conduct of the Sangguniang Kabataan election to be presided by the Comelec and supported by the Philippine National Police and the Armed Forces of the Philippines will be successful. —  Allen Abastillas
