Isabela City Vice Mayor Abdulbaki Ajibun on Saturday officially declared his bid for the mayoralty post in the 2016 general elections.

Ajibun bared his intention during a dialogue held at his residence with at least 33 out of 45 barangay chairmen of Isabela City.

Ajibun said he has already decided to run for mayor after consultations with relatives and friends who responded positively.

“Actually last 2013, I was prepared to run against Mayor Cherry Santos Akbar but we agreed to let the mayor seek her last term, so I waited for this time and I am prepared to run for mayor kahit sino pa man ang kalaban,” Ajibuin said.

He expressed optimism that he will make it this time since majority of the barangay chairmen are strongly supporting his candidacy.

From out of his pocket, Ajibun purchased at least 32 multicab vehicles and already distributed them  to the barangay chairmen.

“Mayroon pang mga multicab coming para sa mga wala pang natangap para mabilis ang serbisyo ng mga barangay leaders sa kanilang mga constituents,” He emphasized.

According to Ajibun, if he will make it in the elections his priority programs and visions will be peace and order and the construction of a modern hospital in Isabela City.

The barangay chairmen said they will support the mayoralty bid of Ajibun saying he is sincere and people-oriented.
