DOT-9 conducts tourism training PDF Print E-mail

The Department of Tourism-9 is conducting a training on Eco-Tourism Guiding and Community Guiding.

The training is only for one week after which the participants will be given a certificates.

Included in the training are food preparations, foods sanitations and quality, folk stories, folkdance and many other local activities that can be promoted as tourists destinations.

DOT Regional Director Mary June Bugante said the project is ongoing in the municipality of Manukan, Zamboanga del Norte. Local officials have requested for the training as they are promoting their different tourist spots like caves and resorts.

After Manukan, the training will continue in the municipalities of Diplahan, Zamboanga Sibugay and Guipos, Zamboanga del Sur. The local government in the two areas are promoting their resorts and local products for tourism attractions.

Meanwhile, Bugante said her new office is now located at the Zamboanga Bayanihan Cooperative along Gen. Vicnete  Alvarez St. cor. Chavez Street.

DOT-9 has been holding office for more than 40 years at the Lantaka Hotel but after the contract ended on December 2014,  Lantaka Hotel management did not renew it.
