A female employee of the Bureau of Internal Revenue and her companion were arrested in a police entrapment operation inside a restaurant along Rizal Street Friday morning in connection with a complaint involving fake land title deal.

Nabbed were Annaliza Lacandalo of BIR and Cherry Wong.

A police report disclosed that a couple —  both engineers —  filed a complaint with the police stating that Wong and Lacandalo had pawned to them several fake land titles.  The complainant told the police that they had already given to Lacandalo and Wong more than P1 million.

Recently, Wong and Lacandalo pawned another fake land title and last Friday they scheduled a meeting with the complainants in a downtown restaurant.

During the meeting Lacandalo and Wong reportedly received P200,000 from the complainants.

Immediately, men of the Police Station 11’s  Investigation Section planned an entrapment operation using the P200,000.

Wong first arrived at the restaurant and received the P100,000 marked money. She was handcuffed. Lacandalo followed later and the same thing happened.

The suspects denied the accusation.

They were taken to the police station for the filing of charges in court.

This reported gathered the Register of Deeds had confirmed the land titles involved were fake. — Dan Toribio
