Australian nabbed after killing Pinay in Dipolog PDF Print E-mail

Police have arrested an Australian national after he was accused of killing a 17-year-old Filipina in Dipolog City, Zamboanga del Norte, the ANC News TV Channel reported Wednesday.

Ali Ali, 42, was arrested in Dumaguete City, a hour-long boat trip to Dipolog City.

Ali arrived in Dipolog from Melbourne, Australia on January 28. He and the victim met through Facebook.

He claimed that he had sent AUD$50,000 to the victim so she could fetch him at the Dipolog City airport.

Hulagway ug Kasikas sa Dumaguete, a community civic group, quoting the police in its Facebook account that

Ali and the Filipina checked in at Antonio Pension House immediately upon arrival in Dipolog.

On January 30, the teenager was found dead inside a room, naked and bleeding. Police said It was also evident that she had suffered a blow to the head.

Ali had fled from the scene and was arrested in Dumaguete City on February 1.

ANC News reported that when he was questioned, Ali said that he and the victim got into a tiff when he supposedly mistook her for a transgender. He claimed that she expressed her anger over this by biting his private parts. This, he reasoned, led him to punch her and then hit her with a shoe several times.

Hulagway ug Kasikas sa Dumaguete, quoting Police Supt. Ranie Hachuela as saying that the Dumaguete police have received an alarm message from the Dipolog City over the murder and Ali’s possible presence in Dumaguete City.

Hachuela said photographs of Ali were circulated in Dumaguete. At noon time on February 1 a civilian informed the police that he spotted Ali walking along a street.He was immediately arrested and turned over to the Dipolog City police
