Conrado “Harry“ Tañamor, a graduate of former Rep. Erbie A. Fabian’s Golpe-Golpe na Barangay, an amateur boxing competition in Zamboanga City, is now a professional boxer in the country  under  a Cavite stable.

Tañamor, who hails from Tugbungan, is a southpaw like boxing icon Manny Pacquiao. His  professional boxing name is  “ El Chavacano “.

Tanamor was featured in the “Tanghali Knock-Out”, a boxing program of  GMA Television Network. He is fighting under the Minimum Weight Division.

Tañamor is known in Zamboanga City as an undefeated fighter in the Golpe-Golpe na Barangay with veteran broadcasterArsenio Nuevo as Fabian’s co-promoter.

Before he turned to professional boxing, Tañamor fought in an international boxing competition Kazachstan Republic two  years ago .

Another Golpe-Golpe na Barangay graduate — Marvin Mabait from Barangay Talon-Talon—  has also turned to professional boxing. Mabait is currently in the United States fighting under the Bantam Weight Division.  Mabait is also a south paw like Pacquiao. He is a scholar of Universidad de Zamboanga. — Allen Abastillas
