The first ever forum of the Tourism-Oriented Establishments (TOEs) operating in Zamboanga City dubbed TOE Conferencewas a success.

In a bid to intensify its local tourism campaign, the City Tourism Office gathered about 30 establishments in the accommodation industry at the Centro Latino last February 6, 2015.

The conference, which focused on the Accommodation Establishments operating in the city, is just the first of the series of conferences to be conducted this year with the various Tourism-Oriented Establishments registered in the city which also include restaurants, travel agencies, ticketing offices, and spas.

The conference commenced with a briefer given by Ms. Cecilia San Juan of the City Tourism Office on the status of the local accommodation industry and was followed by the presentation of the issues and concerns affecting the said industry.

Mr. Charles Rotoni of the Department of Tourism-IX (DOT) discussed about the importance and benefits of the DOT Classification and Accreditation. Two PNP officers were also invited to address the present security situation of the city as well as to impart on the participants some firsthand security measures in their respective establishments.

The conference drew positive feedbacks from the stakeholders present who committed to assist and support the City Tourism Office in all its tourism-related endeavors.

Sarita Sebastian, City Tourism Officer, disclosed that the next TOE conference is scheduled on February 24, 2015 at the Centro Latino with the various restaurant/bar/coffeeshops operators.
