Despite the challenges faced in 2014, the Zamboanga City Tourism Office has done its best efforts to revive the city’s tourism industry and to be able to rebuild a better and stronger Zamboangeño community.

The office has explored tremendous means to boost the marketing and promotions campaign of the local tourism to address the severe tourism and economic problem encountered during the last four months of 2013.

The Office was also able to send representations to various tourism-related trainings and seminars to further strengthen their services.

Aside from that, in 2014, the office was able to implement some additional areas of concern regarding tourism development, tourism support and tourism regulation.  The office also continued to conduct crowd-drawing activities which included the Achiever’s Night, Cheer Dance competition, Drum and Lyre Competition for High School level, 8th Zamboanga Food Festival, Zamboanga Film Festival, Vinta Display, Grand Civic-Military Parade, Main Program and the Dia de Zamboanga Peace Concert.

Also in 2014, the office was able to inaugurate and open the Cinematheque Zamboanga on the eighth of February of that year.
