Drug-craze man runs amok: 1 killed, 2 hurt PDF Print E-mail

A 32-year-old man, suspected to be high on drug, ran amok killing one and wounding 2 others at Zone 7, Tulungatung last Friday morning.

Killed was Benjamin Castillo, 54 married. Wounded were Jimmy Rendon y Apiong, 53, Martilina Castillo y Miranda, 64 and Leonidish Bucoy, 32, married.

A police report disclosed that Bucoy armed himself with a pira, a tausug blade weapon, and started hacking his neighbors around 6 a.m.

It was learned that Bucoy broke into the houses of the victims and attacked them one by one with the blade weapon.

While the amok was hacking the other victims, Rendon, despite the hack wound,  managed to grab a scythe and hacked Bucoy in the body.

All of them sustained multiple hack wounds in the body, but Castillo was declared dead on arrival in a hospital.

Police recovered the pira and scythe at the crime scene.

Police have readied charges for murder and multiple frustrated murder against Bucoy who was also admitted in the hospital. – Dan Toribio Jr.
