Church musician nabbed for allegedly raping minor PDF Print E-mail

A music minister of a Protestant church was arrested Thursday afternoon on rape charge involving a 10-year old girl.

Rodelio Leyson y Morales, 55, married, of Guiwan, was nabbed by men of the Divisoria Police Station led by Chief Insp. Mark Azur in an entrapment operation at his living quarter at the back of the church in Guiwan Porcentro around 1:30 p.m.

A police report disclosed that the older sister of the victim had seen text messages on the child’s cell phone sent by Leyson containing sex topic.

The elder sister interrogated the girl and got her to confess that she was raped by Leyson inside his living quarter around 12 noon on February 14.

The incident was reported to the police for further investigation.

Timely, Leyson sent again text messages to the girl inviting her to his quarter for another sex date last Thursday.

At this point, police were deployed outside the suspect’s quarter while the girl entered the room.

Whe she and Leyson were inside the quarter, policemen rushed in and arrested Leyson.

The suspect was brought to the Divisoria Police Station where he was detained while the girl was brought to the hospital for medical checkup.

Men of the Divisoria police station have readied charges against Leyson for violation of Republic Acts 7610 and 8353. — Dan Toribio
