Agents of the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency Regional Office-Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (PDEA RO-ARMM) arrested a woman drug group member in a raid in Cotabato City, yielding Php 1.3 million worth of shabu.

PDEA Director General Undersecretary Arturo Cacdac Jr. identified the suspect as Mona Musa Bagundang, also known as Bai, who was a member of the Nasser Kautin Drug Group residing in Mother Barangay Poblacion, Cotabato City.

Cacdac said agents of PDEA RO-ARMM, led by Director Yogi Filemon Ruiz, were armed with search warrants issued by Bansawan Ibrahim of the Regional Trial Court Branch 13 when they raided the suspect’s house on Tuesday morning.

The raiding team seized in Bagundang’s possession four heat-sealed plastic sachets of methamphetamine hydrochloride or shabu weighing more or less 200 grams worth Php 1.3 million, a digital scale, one box of transparent plastic container with green lid containing assorted drug paraphernalia, one M-16 rifle and two magazines.

Bagundang was arrested for violation of Section 11 or the Possession of Dangerous Drugs and Section 12 or the Possession of Drug Paraphernalia, Article II of Republic Act 9165 or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.

A separate case was also filed against the suspect for violation of RA 10591 or the illegal possession of firearms.
