The third set of upgraded traffic lights was unveiled yesterday morning, February 27, as part of the continuing efforts of the City Government to modernize its traffic facilities.

Mayor Beng Climaco spearheaded the switch-on ceremonies of the newly-installed traffic lights at the Mayor Jaldon intersection together with General Services Office (GSO) Head Engr. Rene Dela Cruz.

The installation of the new facilities is part of the P9 million project of the City Government which will upgrade the traffic lights in major thoroughfares and intersections.

The upgraded traffic light system, featuring LED lights and digital countdown timers, have been earlier installed in the Camins and Sta. Cruz intersections.

The next installation will be for the Tetuan-Veterans intersection, disclosed Dela Cruz, adding that the GSO expects to finish the upgrades by March 2015. — Jasmine Mohammadsali
