PRO-9’s Salam Center conducts activities in 23 barangays PDF Print E-mail

The Police Regional Office-9’s Police Community Center-Salam Police Center is conducting a series of peace and order and harmony advocacy activities in the city’s different barangays to promote tranquility and prosperity.

Chief Insp. Fictal Majudin, Salam Police Center chief, said his office had conducted series of  activities in 23 barangays including four island barangays to promote peace and harmony.

Among the activities are Pulong -Pulong and Clean and Green activities in Mulu-Muluan in Barangay Mercedes, induction of officers of the Salaam Civilians Volunteers in Barangay Patalon, meetings with Ulamas and religious sectors and Pulong-Pulong with the communities and populace of the 23 barangays together with barangay officials.

Moreover, the first launching of the Ulama Council of Zamboanga Peninsula was held at Astoria Hotel on February 16, and the 4th Anniversary of Salam Civilian Volunteers on March 1, 2015 held at the Philippine National Red Cross Youth Training Center.

Majudin said Salam Center’s program is aimed to strengthen the relationship of the Philippine National Police and the communities  in coordination with local government units.

Majudin added that his office has also development program for socio-economic activities for depressed barangays. It involves skills development on hand weaving, crop production for agriculture and aquaculture products, electricity,  electronics , carpentry and machine mechanics. — Allen Abastillas
