The Land Transportation Office in Manila has issued a new directive for the pilot road show on breath analyzer for violators of the Anti -Drunk and Drug Law Act to  be held in Zamboanga City and Davao City.

LTO-9 Director Aminola P. Abaton said he will attend a conference among LTO regional directors to be held at the LTO central Office in Manila from March 18 to 20 for the final briefing and demonstration on the use of the breath analyzer and the protocol on the imposition of fines and penalties against violators.

The  conference will be presided by LTO Asst. Sec.  Alfonso Tan who will distribute breath analyzers to each regional director.

Abaton advises vehicle drivers to follow and obey the law by not driving  while intoxicated with liquor because it is  for their own good in preserving life.

Abaton explained that once an accident is happened because of drunk driving or the driver is high on drugs, fines and penalties will be imposed.  If proven guilty the high penalty is 20 years imprisonment including payment of damages from P500,000 and above.

Meanwhile, Abaton commended the LTO Ipil District Office  in Zamboanga Sibugay for a job well done.

Ipil District Office was awarded by the Civil Service Commission for the delivery of quality, excellence and efficient services to LTO clients. The District Office received a P100,000 cash incentive. — Allen Abastillas
