‘Dia del Alcalde’goes to Lapakan, P6M projects unveiled PDF Print E-mail

Mayor Beng Climaco yesterday brought once more the city government closer to her constituents in far flung villages, this time providing residents of Barangay Lapakan in the east coast with basic social services via the “Dia del Alcalde” outreach mission.

At least 400 mostly indigent residents of Lapakan have availed of the medical consultations, dental services to include basic medicines and vitamins for children, farming and agri-tech demo, veterinary services, civil registrations and other services, all free of charges.

Aside from delivery of basic social services to the people in far flung areas, the “Dia del Alcalde” outreach mission also provides the chief executive with the opportunity personally meet, engage and interact with the people, community leaders as well as barangay leaders.

After her interactions with the people mostly women and children, Climaco took the opportunity to unveil three infrastructure projects worth almost P6 million and turned them over to the barangay council of Lapakan headed by Chairman Clodualdo Cosme.

Unveiled were improvement of farm-to-market road (Lapakan to Poso) amounting to P2,934,966.27 undertaken by EMTR Construction, drainage system at Zones 4, 5 and 6 worth P999,097.79 by Erna Construction & Supplies, and another farm-to-market road (Zones 3-4) costing P1,988,311.17 by ZamboPen Construction.

The three projects cost the city government P5,922,275.23, and were supervised by the City Engineer’s Office headed by City Engineer Luis Vicente Despalo, who joined the mayor in the simple turnover program.— Vic Larato
