Boat with lumber cargo held by Maritime police PDF Print E-mail

Maritime police under Sr. Supt. Shepard Reyes held yesterday an interisland boat called “Jungkung’ carrying 3,000 board feet of good lumber having no pertinent papers.

Reyes said the Jungkung and the lumber cargo belong to  Henry Ajilani from Hji. Mutamad Municipality.

Reyes said the boat arrived at the local wharf around 10 a.m.. It was immediately held by his team.

During interrogation, Ajilani presented old documents which he already used in the previous shipment of lumber sometimes in January this year.

Reyes added that the boat as well the lumber will be turnrd over to the DENR.

He added that Ajilani violated Section 68 of Presidential Decree 705 as amended by Executive Order 277 series of 1987.— Dan Toribio
