Mayor Beng Climaco yesterday led the distribution of cash assistance amounting to P84,000 to 20 families/beneficiaries who were either victims of conflagration or vehicular accident that occurred early this year.

The mayor was assisted by personnel from the City Social Welfare and Development Office and the City Treasurer’s Office in handing out cash aid in an informal ceremony held at the City Hall Conference Room.

Three families received P5,000 to help them rebuild their home that were totally damaged during the January 29 blaze in Barangay Sangali while each of the three other home-owners of partially damaged properties during the same incident also received P3,000.

Meanwhile, the city government also extended cash assistance to fourteen beneficiaries who were injured in a vehicular accident last March 25.

Victims who sustained more serious injuries that required hospital admission were given P5,000 apiece and the three casualties who received out-patient treatment took home P3,000.

The victims of the vehicular accident were residents of barangays Culianan (5), Salaan (4), Sta. Maria (1), Mercedes (1), Pasobolong (2), and Talabaan (1).
